Vapes and e-cigarettes may seem harmless once they’re used up—but tossing them in the trash or dumpster can be extremely dangerous.

🔥 Why?
Most vapes contain lithium-ion batteries, which can spark or explode if damaged—especially inside garbage trucks or dumpsters where they get crushed or exposed to heat. These fires can put workers at risk, damage equipment, and even cause large-scale fires.

♻️ Do NOT throw vapes in the trash. Instead:

• Take them to a local household hazardous waste facility
• Drop them off at designated e-waste recycling centers
• Check with vape shops—some offer battery recycling programs
• Remove batteries (if possible) and recycle them separately at approved locations

    Do your part to keep our community safe.
